The Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United States of America to establish the American-Ukrainian Investment Fund for Reconstruction lays down the framework for further cooperation in the critical minerals sector and serves as the basis for further agreements and treaties.

As an expert in the field of strategic intelligence and supply chain security, based on Fincord-Polytech Science Park’s research into critical minerals, Pavlo Verkhniatskyi discussed the key aspects of the long-anticipated minerals deal between the United States and Ukraine in a series of interviews for Deutsche Welle.

Pavlo Verkhniatskyi emphasised the importance of preparatory steps for companies entering the process, such as studying the environment, assessing the scale of critical mineral deposits, and identifying relevant Ukrainian partners that currently hold the necessary licences. He highlighted the advantages of the agreement as a framework for potential foreign partners and addressed the issues of security, confidence, and risk management for the companies.

Pavlo Verkhniatskyi also told Deutsche Welle about the prospects and features of titanium and lithium mining, relevant technologies and infrastructure in Ukraine, and the issues of deposits on the temporary occupied territories. During the interview, he highlighted the ways to reduce the West’s dependence on raw materials from China. Pavlo also emphasised the importance of involving professional organisations in the development of these projects and effective process management.
